🇫🇷 Paris — April 16–21

Five days in Paris — from the Impressionists to the top of the Eiffel Tower, two trips to Versailles, dinner on the first floor, and a magical Batobus cruise along the Seine at sunset.


🏨 Where We’re Staying

Airbnb in the 7th arrondissement — walking distance to the Eiffel Tower, with a brilliant local bakery around the corner. April 16–21 (5 nights).

Day 1 — Thu Apr 16 — Arrive, Grand Palais, Musée d’Orsay & Notre-Dame

  • 06:00 — Arrive CDG. Uber to Airbnb.
  • 08:00 — Drop bags, shower and freshen up after overnight flight
  • 09:15 — 🥐 Maison Bergeron — breakfast croissants + packed lunch for the day
  • 10:15 — 🏛️ Grand Palais — quick look around the building via Pont Alexandre III
  • 13:00 — 🎨 Musée d’Orsay — Head straight to Level 5 for the Impressionists — Monet, Renoir, Degas, Van Gogh.
  • 18:00 — 🚤 Batobus from Musée d’Orsay stop to Notre-Dame
  • 18:30 — ⛪ Notre-Dame de Paris — free timed entry. Walk around Île de la Cité, Shakespeare & Co bookshop nearby.
  • 20:00 — 🚤 Batobus back to Tour Eiffel stop — evening Seine cruise as the city lights up. Eiffel Tower sparkles on the hour!
  • 20:45 — 🍕 Dinner — La Casa di Alfio or groceries from Monop’

Day 2 — Fri Apr 17 — Versailles Day 1

  • Early morning — RER C to Versailles (~1 hour)
  • 09:00 — Palace first, then gardens
  • Lunch — Packed lunch from Maison Bergeron
  • Afternoon — Gardens, Grand Trianon, Petit Trianon, Marie-Antoinette’s Estate

Day 3 — Sat Apr 18 — Marmottan Monet, Opéra Garnier & Madame Brasserie

  • 10:00 — 🎨 Musée Marmottan Monet — Home of Monet’s Impression, Sunrise.
  • 14:00 — 🎭 Palais Garnier (Opéra) — Self-guided tour. The Phantom’s chandelier!
  • 18:00 — 🍽️ Madame Brasserie, 1st floor Eiffel Tower — dinner with a view!

Day 4 — Sun Apr 19 — Versailles Day 2 (Musical Fountains)

  • 10:00–19:00 — Musical Fountains Show — 55 fountains dance to Baroque music.
  • Focus — Gardens, carriages, fountains. Skip the palace today.

Day 5 — Mon Apr 20 — Eiffel Tower Summit, Napoleon’s Tomb & Champs-Élysées

  • 10:30 — 🗼 Eiffel Tower — top floor! Views on a clear day stretch 70km.
  • 14:00 — ⚔️ Napoleon’s Tomb / Les Invalides — Army Museum, Dome Church. Napoleon’s massive red porphyry sarcophagus.
  • 16:30 — 🛍️ Walk Champs-Élysées to Arc de Triomphe via Place de la Concorde.

Day 6 — Tue Apr 21 — Eurostar to London

  • 08:00 — Final breakfast at Maison Bergeron. Pack up.
  • 10:07 — 🚄 Eurostar departs Gare du Nord
  • 11:30 — Arrive London St Pancras. Au revoir, Paris!

🍽️ Neighbourhood Guide

🥐 Breakfast: Maison Bergeron, 112 Rue Saint-Dominique. Croissants, baguette sandwiches. Opens 7am. Closed Sundays.

🍕 Dinner — casual: La Casa di Alfio, 43 Av. de la Bourdonnais. Casual Italian. Open until 2am.

🍷 Dinner — classic French: La Fontaine de Mars, 129 Rue Saint-Dominique. Classic bistro, famous duck confit.

🛒 Groceries: Monop’, 102 Rue Saint-Dominique. Open till midnight daily.
